How are chiropractors educated?

In the state of NC, Chiropractors must also have obtained a Bachelor’s degree prior to receiving a Doctorate in Chiropractic. The Doctorate is a 4 year postgraduate degree, similar to an MD but we are not trained in Pharmacology and have much more extensive training in nutrition and vitamins.

Can pregnant women see a chiropractor?

Pregnant women can be treated safely throughout their whole pregnancy. Low back and pelvic pain is a common condition treated among pregnant women. We provide traditional and low force adjustments to pregnant mothers.

Is chiropractic care addictive?

The difference between chiropractic care and physical therapy is that Chiropractors are taught specifically to manipulate the spine and extremities to provide relief, while physical therapists work more specifically with muscles to treat conditions and are not taught in school to do spinal or non-spinal adjustments.

Can chiropractors help with sports injuries?

We work with athletes at the collegiate and high school level as well as our weekend warriors. I can treat knees, elbows, shoulders, wrists, and ankles. Our cold laser is very effective in treating tendonitis at all joints. Again, if the sport injury is something that requires more attention than what we offer I have relationships with competent Orthopedists in our area.

Can chiropractic care improve posture?

Chiropractic almost always helps with posture. We do specific work in this office to regain loss of proper curvature in the neck through Chiropractic adjustments, exercise, and biomechanical techniques.

What happens during a chiropractic adjustment?

When you get adjusted, proper motion is restored to the joint complex reliving pressure off of nerve roots and pushing nourishing fluid into the spinal discs. This results in pain relief, relaxed muscles, and normalized nerve function.

Is chiropractic safe for children?

Chiropractic is 100% safe for children. Although, depending on the age of the child, infants and young children are adjusted differently than adults at times. Many children and babies are helped with colic, ear infections, and trauma from falls. Kids are always welcome at this clinic as patients or if they are just coming with their parents.
